This was a fun project. I love watching sailboats. I don't have a sailboat or know anybody with one, so I made one, and christened it 'Lady Di', after my wife, Diane.
For this project I wanted to try to capture the boat in various attitudes but mostly I wanted to paint them with colour to convey mood and emotion.
These were all lit in a studio with a flashlight and then I composited them into scenes in post processing.
These are not simply photographs nor are they digital, they're sort of a mixed media.
Above all, they are my art.
